Christmas Tree Lighting in Kalundborg – A Magical Start to the Holiday Season
On Friday, November 20, we’ll welcome the holiday season in Kalundborg with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, music, and fun activities for the whole family. We’ll round out the day with a grand, spectacular fire and light show at Solskinspladsen.
Programme:
5:00 p.m. – Christmas parade and caroling
Join the festive Christmas parade starting at the Kvickly parking lot, featuring Holbæk Garden, torchbearers from the city’s uniformed corps, and Santa Claus in a horse-drawn carriage. The parade will proceed via Elmegade and Øen to Klostertorvet, where the Musisk Skoles Choir will sing in the Christmas season while we wait for Santa Claus.
5:30 p.m. – We light the town’s Christmas tree
Santa Claus lights the big Christmas tree at Klostertorvet and hands out candy to the children. Afterward, the festive fun continues with more Christmas carols from the Musisk Skole Choir.
6:05 p.m. – Follow the drums through town
Holbæk Garden marches from Klostertorvet through Kordilgade with drums, stopping at Solskinspladsen.
Starting at 6:10 p.m. – Fire, lights, and Christmas music at Solskinspladsen
We’ll wrap up the festivities with two impressive fire and light shows. Between the two shows, Christina Smith Langtoft will create a festive Christmas atmosphere with Danish Christmas carols on the Solskinstrappen.
Bring the family and help get Kalundborg in the Christmas spirit!
