The Marketing Committee — MFU — er et selvstyrende udvalg under The Vores Kalundborg Merchants' Association. Vi er 13 aktive investorer fra 10 lokale virksomheder, der sammen finansierer markedsføring, aktiviteter og initiativer, der gør Kalundborg til et bedre sted at bo, handle og drive virksomhed.
The committee was established on 4 April 2023 with a clear purpose: to ensure the town's shared story is shaped by those who have their heart and money invested locally. Each investment is paid in over three years — after that, members continue with an annual contribution.
Decisions are made jointly at four annual meetings. Chair, vice-chair and secretary are elected from among the members. All deposits are managed in close cooperation with the Merchants' Association — openly, audited and with clear allocation.
Joining the committee happens in three steps — transparent and simple. The application is reviewed by the board, and upon approval the agreed investment capital is paid in.

The board reviews the application. Approval requires nomination from the chair or a member as well as the city coordinator.
The investment capital is paid in — DKK 40,000 over three years, then DKK 10,000 annually. You are now a full MFU investor.

The Marketing Committee arbejder for at skabe mere liv i Kalundborg midtby. Alle midler skal sikre at midtbyen vokser, blomstrer og tiltrækker mennesker — både til handel og bosætning, samt skaber kultur og miljø for alle aldre. Der gives præference til aktiviteter med lokale aktører og leverandører.
The rules of procedure are the agreement that binds the committee together. They describe roles, decision-making processes, finances, and procedures for joining and leaving. Click each item for details.
The committee's name is the Marketing Committee (internally referred to as MFU).
The committee consists of 12-13 active investors with meeting access at least 4 times per year. The committee may be supplemented by additional investors who are NOT active in MFU, but instead serve as Sleeping Partners. Sleeping Partners do not have voting rights, nor are they decision-making.
Sponsorships are defined based on the model developed by MFU.
MFU elects an acting chair from among its members at the constituting meeting. The committee may also decide to elect a deputy chair and possibly a secretary.
The current chair joins the board of the Vores Kalundborg Merchants' Association as a full board member.
MFU may change leadership positions (chair, deputy chair, and secretary) continuously, whenever the committee deems and decides that a change should occur.
MFU is entirely autonomous regarding both its membership and the invested capital.
MFU may establish subcommittees to focus on and solve projects. The established subcommittees are permitted to supplement themselves with external members who do not necessarily have ties to either Vores Kalundborg or MFU.
Subcommittee decisions: 100% consensus within the subcommittee is required for any project or topic before it can be brought before MFU for further discussion, recommendation, and decision. MFU alone authorises the subcommittee's project, by ordinary majority vote among the committee's 12-13 members.
MFU funds may be used for activity reinforcement, marketing reinforcement, culture, leisure, associations, and may also distribute funds for use by, for example, Vores Kalundborg.
All funds used must be released through approved projects or budgets with majority support in MFU.
Crowd funding: MFU may develop guidelines and options for dedicated crowdfunding, in order to increase MFU's funds with contributions all the way down to citizen level.
Should MFU no longer make sense as ongoing support for Vores Kalundborg or otherwise, the committee may be dissolved by 100% majority vote among its members.
Any remaining funds revert to the Merchants' Association, Vores Kalundborg.
