Treasure Hunt in Kalundborg

Saturday’s big highlight for families with children—the grand pirate treasure hunt through Kalundborg. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., little pirates set off on an adventurous city walk with five stations staffed by seasoned pirates. The start time is selected when the ticket is booked, and the entire tour takes about 50 minutes.

The story behind it

Many years ago, a band of pirates had to seek shelter from a storm in Kalundborg. While they were ashore, they all became friends—and they decided to make a flag together using whatever they had on hand.

That flag was recently stolen. One of the old pirates has found it again, but has cut it into pieces to ensure it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Now a new crew must be found to locate the flag, sew it back together, and hoist it once more.

Here’s how it works

• Meet at the starting station (details provided upon registration)
• The Treasure Hunt has 5 checkpoints—all manned by pirates
• When you solve the task at a checkpoint, you’ll receive the clue to where the next checkpoint is located (no treasure map)
• The entire trip takes about 50 minutes
• At the end, all participating pirates receive a certificate and a treasure
• At approximately 1:45 PM, the flag will be raised at Solskinspladsen—if you manage to find it!

Practical Information

• Time: Saturday, May 16, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Start time is selected when booking a ticket
• Location: The starting point will be provided upon registration — the tour ends at Solskinspladsen. It’s not a long walk
• Price: Free
• Registration: Required — tickets can be booked via Place2Book (click "Register / Buy ticket" at the top of the page)
• For whom: Children ages 5–12. Adults are welcome to join, but the activities are designed for the children
• Remember: Practical shoes, maybe a small snack, and sunglasses if the weather is nice
